Guest Lecture on Aryabhatta

Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, organized an enlightening Guest Lecture on the life, work, and legacy of the great Indian mathematician and astronomer Aryabhatta. The session was part of a series to encourage scientific thinking and historical awareness among students.

The guest speaker, Dr. R.K. Sharma, an eminent professor of Mathematics from Delhi University, provided deep insights into Aryabhatta’s groundbreaking contributions — including the concept of zero, the place-value system, and his accurate calculations of planetary positions and eclipses.

The lecture included engaging visuals, historical references, and real-world applications of Aryabhatta’s theories. Students were amazed to learn how his work laid the foundation for modern-day algebra and trigonometry.

The interactive Q&A session encouraged curiosity and critical thinking. The faculty praised the active participation of students and encouraged them to explore more about India’s mathematical heritage.

Principal Dr. Seema Dahiya thanked the guest speaker for his valuable time and honored him with a memento. She emphasized the importance of recognizing India’s ancient scholars and integrating such learnings into contemporary education.
