World Ozone Day

Celebrated at Aggarwal College

Aggarwal College observed World Ozone Day with a series of informative and awareness-driven activities aimed at highlighting the importance of protecting the ozone layer. The programme aligned with global efforts led by the United Nations to safeguard the environment and promote sustainable living practices.

Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically in the celebration, recognizing the vital role of the ozone layer in shielding life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Activities such as poster presentations, slogan writing, and documentary screenings educated participants about the discovery of the ozone hole and the success of the Montreal Protocol.

A special guest lecture was delivered by an environmental expert, who explained how international cooperation has contributed to the gradual recovery of the ozone layer. The session emphasized practical steps that individuals and institutions can adopt to reduce ozone-depleting substances and support environmental protection.

Members of the Eco Club organized a symbolic plantation drive within the college campus to reinforce environmental responsibility. A pledge ceremony was also conducted, where students committed themselves to eco-friendly habits such as minimizing plastic usage, conserving energy, and promoting sustainable transportation.

The Principal appreciated the collective efforts of students and faculty, highlighting that consistent small actions can create significant positive environmental impact. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to participants for their contributions through creative and awareness-based activities.
