Social Entrepreneur Course

Organized by Aggarwal College

Aggarwal College introduced a comprehensive Social Entrepreneur Course with the objective of nurturing entrepreneurial thinking while instilling a deep sense of social responsibility among students. The course was designed to empower learners to develop sustainable, impact-driven ventures that address real societal challenges.

The curriculum was structured into multiple modules covering the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, identification of social problems, business model development, financial planning for social enterprises, impact assessment, and ethical leadership. Eminent professionals from industry, non-governmental organizations, and social enterprises shared their experiences through expert lectures, workshops, and case-study discussions.

A major strength of the programme was its hands-on, experiential approach. Students were grouped into teams and tasked with identifying pressing social issues within their communities. Each team researched, ideated, and designed viable solutions using entrepreneurial frameworks.

Project themes included areas such as waste management, access to rural education, women skill development, livelihood generation, and eco-friendly packaging solutions. Students were evaluated not only on theoretical understanding but also on innovation, teamwork, community engagement, feasibility, and long-term sustainability.

Throughout the course, faculty mentors and industry experts provided continuous guidance, helping students refine ideas and strengthen execution strategies. The programme culminated in a project presentation day, where teams presented their solutions before an expert panel.

Several promising ideas were shortlisted for further incubation and mentorship through collaborations with NGOs and CSR-supported initiatives. The course reinforced Aggarwal College’s commitment to holistic education and youth empowerment, preparing students to become responsible leaders and changemakers in society.
