Guest Lecture – Sanskrit Department

Organized by Aggarwal College

The Department of Sanskrit at Aggarwal College organized an intellectually enriching guest lecture with the objective of promoting classical learning and fostering a deeper appreciation of Sanskrit literature. The session connected students with the timeless wisdom preserved in ancient Indian scriptures and scholarly traditions.

The lecture explored key themes from Vedic literature, classical Sanskrit poetry, and traditional grammar systems. Special emphasis was laid on the role of Sanskrit in shaping Indian philosophy, linguistics, cultural identity, and intellectual heritage.

Students were introduced to the relevance of Sanskrit in modern academic research, including areas such as computational linguistics, yoga studies, philosophy, and interdisciplinary scholarship. The session highlighted how Sanskrit continues to influence contemporary knowledge systems across the world.

An interactive approach enabled students to engage with selected verses, interpret meanings, and understand linguistic structures. Discussions on Pāṇini’s grammatical framework, Kālidāsa’s literary excellence, and the oral tradition of knowledge preservation formed key highlights of the lecture.

The lecture concluded with a motivating message encouraging students to preserve, study, and promote Sanskrit within modern education. Participants expressed keen interest in further exploring classical texts and participating in Sanskrit-based academic and research activities.
