Organized by Aggarwal College
Aggarwal College observed World Environment Day through a well-organized awareness program conducted by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit. The initiative aimed to promote environmental consciousness and encourage students to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The program commenced with a tree plantation drive across the college campus, where students and volunteers planted saplings of various species. This symbolic act highlighted the importance of greenery, biodiversity, and collective responsibility toward creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
Following the plantation activity, students actively participated in poster-making, slogan writing, and essay competitions. The themes revolved around environmental protection, reduction of plastic usage, conservation of natural resources, and sustainable living. These creative expressions effectively conveyed strong environmental messages.
A short yet impactful skit performed by NSS volunteers drew attention to the harmful effects of pollution, deforestation, and careless waste disposal. The performance emphasized how small changes in everyday habits can significantly contribute to protecting the planet.
An eco-pledge ceremony was also organized, where students pledged to save water, reduce plastic consumption, maintain cleanliness, and protect nature. Participants recorded their commitments on a digital pledge wall, reflecting their dedication to environmental responsibility.
The program concluded with a group interaction and collective reflection, inspiring everyone to take small yet meaningful steps toward environmental conservation. The enthusiasm and participation of students demonstrated their commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future.
Through initiatives like this, Aggarwal College continues to instill environmental awareness and social responsibility among students, reinforcing the belief that protecting nature is a shared duty of every citizen.
